February – March 2024: the rooftop – 3rd floor
The higher the building gets, the clearer it becomes that construction in Cape Verde is a challenge. Every mortar, every stone, and every piece of rebar has to be made and brought up by manpower. A small hoist is the only motorized tool the construction team has at their disposal. Mortar must be poured and spread quickly because the scorching heat of the midday sun makes the concrete set particularly quickly; there is no time to lose.
Meanwhile, it becomes clear that the sea view from the rooftop will be even wider and more breathtaking than we had ever dared to dream. A panoramic view of the ocean of more than 180° unfolds before our eyes. The dimensions of the pool are also now becoming a reality; what seemed like a small plunge pool on the architect's plan turns out to be much larger in reality. Although it is not, of course, an Olympic-sized pool, it is large enough to refresh yourself after a tiring hike, swim a few laps, or enjoy a cocktail on the swim platform.
The 154m² rooftop offers, in addition to a professional outdoor kitchen, breakfast nook, storage room, and bathroom with toilet and shower, plenty of space to sunbathe and relax in the lounge. Enjoying wonderfully 'sky-high'.
